Introduction to Programming

We believe that high quality early childhood programs provide a safe and nurturing environment that meets the individual needs and promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the children involved in the program.

EarlyCare’s planning and programming is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Being Becoming and Belonging, based on the practices of holistic approaches, responsiveness to children, planning and implementing learning through play, intentional teaching, learning environments, cultural competence, continuity of learning/ transition and assessment for learning, this is the base for our curriculum/planning in line with the National Quality Standards.

Implementation – Programming and Planning Cycle

All of the contributing aspects to program, planning and evaluation and the way they interlink is demonstrated in the diagram at the end of this document. Program planning is a process which all educators, families and children are involved in. Each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program. Our emergent curriculum directly responds to the child’s needs, current interests and abilities. Our programs focuses on things children can do rather than focusing on themes which are carer initiated and directed. Our reflective style of planning allows us to gather a holistic view of each child……..
